Children’s Botanical Printing and Leaf Art
Price range: $8.00 through $32.00
A 1.5-hour guided nature based art activity for children aged 4-14 yrs.
Participants are assisted to select materials suitable for botanical printing and create prints, pictures or designs on paper. Botanical material, pens, picture-making collage materials and paint are provided. Paper to print on is available as well as instruction posters for older children.
COST – $8 per person or $32 for a group of 4 or family
Note: Minimum session price $32 i.e. or 4 participants @$8 each
- Everyday plant parts & found objects in nature are introduced, and their use in creating prints is demonstrated.
- Methods of applying printing ink or paint to botanical objects are shared, and how to ensure a clear print on paper is shown
- Children create their own botanical prints to make a design or embellish a print with coloured pencils/pens or collage materials to make a picture.
- Completed prints, pictures or printed designs are taken home by their creator at the end of the session along with a simple instructional sheet to help them make botanical prints at home.
